The Blood of Dawnwalker is almost here, and players around the world are preparing to jump into Rebel Wolves’ highly anticipated dark-fantasy RPG. But exactly when can you play The Blood of Dawnwalker?
The answer depends on whether you’re playing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, because the game uses different launch schedules across platforms.
The good news for console players is that there is also a potential way to start playing earlier by using the popular New Zealand trick.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Blood of Dawnwalker release date, launch times, preload schedule, PC release time, console release time, and New Zealand trick.
Blood of Dawnwalker Release Date
The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on September 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, the exact time you can start playing depends on your platform and location.
Console players generally receive the game at midnight local time, while the PC version has a simultaneous worldwide launch.
That means PC and console players in the same country may actually get access at different times.
Blood of Dawnwalker Release Times by Time Zone
The console version launches at midnight local time in most regions, with the Americas following a specific schedule.
The PC version launches globally at 12:00 AM CEST on September 3.
Here are the important release times:
| Region | Console Release | PC Release |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific Time (PDT) | Sept. 2, 9 PM | Sept. 2, 3 PM |
| Mountain Time (MDT) | Sept. 2, 10 PM | Sept. 2, 4 PM |
| Central Time (CDT) | Sept. 2, 11 PM | Sept. 2, 5 PM |
| Eastern Time (EDT) | Sept. 3, 12 AM | Sept. 2, 6 PM |
| Brazil (BRT) | Sept. 3, 1 AM | Sept. 2, 7 PM |
| UK (BST) | Sept. 3, 12 AM | Sept. 2, 11 PM |

| Australia (AEST) | Sept. 3, 12 AM | Sept. 3, 8 AM |
| New Zealand (NZST) | Sept. 3, 12 AM | Sept. 3, 10 AM |
The official schedule confirms that PC players in North America can start playing several hours before console players in the same region.
What Time Does Blood of Dawnwalker Release in the US?
For US players, the launch time depends on your time zone.
Pacific Time
PS5/Xbox: September 2 at 9:00 PM PDT
PC: September 2 at 3:00 PM PDT
Mountain Time
PS5/Xbox: September 2 at 10:00 PM MDT
PC: September 2 at 4:00 PM MDT
Central Time
PS5/Xbox: September 2 at 11:00 PM CDT
PC: September 2 at 5:00 PM CDT
Eastern Time
PS5/Xbox: September 3 at 12:00 AM EDT
PC: September 2 at 6:00 PM EDT
So, if you’re playing on PC in the US, you can start playing The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 2, several hours before the console version becomes available.
What Time Does Blood of Dawnwalker Release in the UK?
UK players can expect the console version to unlock at:
12:00 AM BST on September 3
The PC version launches earlier:
11:00 PM BST on September 2
This gives PC players in the UK a one-hour head start over the midnight console release.
What Time Does Blood of Dawnwalker Release in Australia?
Australian players will receive the console version at:
12:00 AM AEST on September 3
The PC version launches at:
8:00 AM AEST on September 3
That difference is important because the PC version uses a global launch rather than the midnight-local-time system used by consoles.
What Time Does Blood of Dawnwalker Release in New Zealand?
New Zealand is one of the first major regions to receive the console version.
The console release time is:
12:00 AM NZST on September 3
The PC version arrives later at:
10:00 AM NZST on September 3
This is why New Zealand is important for players who want to use the so-called New Zealand trick.
Can You Play Blood of Dawnwalker Early With the New Zealand Trick?
Yes, console players in regions west of New Zealand may be able to use the New Zealand region trick to access the game earlier.
The method works because the PS5 and Xbox versions unlock according to regional midnight times rather than using one simultaneous global launch.
On Xbox, players can change the console’s region to New Zealand. On PlayStation, the process is more complicated because digital purchases are connected to the PlayStation Store region.
The New Zealand method does not provide an earlier PC launch, because the Steam version has a simultaneous worldwide release.
VGC reports that Xbox players can change their console region to New Zealand, while PS5 players would need a New Zealand PSN account and purchase through that regional storefront.
Blood of Dawnwalker New Zealand Trick Times
If you’re able to access the New Zealand console release, these are the approximate times when the game becomes available in earlier regions:
| Region | New Zealand Trick Release |
|---|---|
| Pacific Time | Sept. 2, 5 AM |
| Mountain Time | Sept. 2, 6 AM |
| Central Time | Sept. 2, 7 AM |
| Eastern Time | Sept. 2, 8 AM |
| Brazil | Sept. 2, 9 AM |
| UK | Sept. 2, 12 PM |
| Central Europe | Sept. 2, 1 PM |
| India | Sept. 2, 5:30 PM |
| China | Sept. 2, 8 PM |
| Japan | Sept. 2, 9 PM |
| Australia | Sept. 2, 10 PM |
| New Zealand | Sept. 3, 12 AM |
For example, an Xbox player in the US Pacific time zone could potentially start playing at 5 AM PDT on September 2, rather than waiting until 9 PM that evening.
How to Use the New Zealand Trick on Xbox
The Xbox method is relatively straightforward for players who have purchased the digital version.
Step 1: Purchase the game
Make sure you own the digital version of The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Step 2: Open Xbox Settings
Go to your Xbox system settings.
Step 3: Change your location
Navigate to the system’s language and location settings and temporarily select:
New Zealand
Step 4: Restart your Xbox
Fully restart the console so the regional setting takes effect.
Step 5: Launch the game
Once the New Zealand release time arrives, check your game library and try launching The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Step 6: Return to your normal region
After the game officially launches in your region, you can switch your Xbox location back to your usual country.
The New Zealand approach is a commonly used regional-release workaround for games that unlock at different local times.
Does the New Zealand Trick Work on PS5?
The situation is different on PS5.
Simply changing the console’s location does not work in the same straightforward way because PlayStation digital purchases are tied to the regional PlayStation Store.
According to current reporting, PS5 players who want to use the New Zealand release would generally need access to a New Zealand PSN account and the game purchased through that regional store.
For most players, waiting for the normal regional release may therefore be considerably easier.
Does the New Zealand Trick Work on PC?
No.
PC players cannot get an earlier release through the New Zealand trick because the PC version of The Blood of Dawnwalker launches simultaneously worldwide.
The PC version goes live at:
12:00 AM CEST on September 3
That means changing your Windows or Steam region does not turn the PC launch into a New Zealand-style local midnight release.
When Can You Preload Blood of Dawnwalker?
Players can preload The Blood of Dawnwalker 48 hours before the game launches on their platform.
That means you should be able to download the game ahead of time rather than waiting for the launch moment.
Preloading is particularly useful for players with slower internet connections because the game can be installed before the servers unlock.
The current release information confirms that preload access is scheduled 48 hours before launch on PC and consoles.
Can You Stream Blood of Dawnwalker at Release?
There is also an important consideration for streamers and content creators.
Developer Rebel Wolves has asked players to avoid streaming gameplay until the designated release times.
The streaming schedule follows the PC global launch times listed above, so creators should check the relevant regional time before going live.
If you’re planning a YouTube or Twitch launch stream, it’s better to follow the developer’s requested timing rather than assuming that an early console unlock automatically means streaming is permitted.
Blood of Dawnwalker: PC vs PS5 vs Xbox Release Times
The biggest difference can be summarized like this:
PC: Global simultaneous launch at 12 AM CEST on September 3.
PS5: Midnight local time in most regions.
Xbox Series X|S: Midnight local time in most regions, with the New Zealand region method potentially allowing earlier access.
This makes Xbox particularly interesting for players who want to begin the game as soon as possible.
Blood of Dawnwalker Release Time in Pakistan
For players in Pakistan, the PC launch corresponds to:
3:00 AM PKT on September 3
The normal console release is:
12:00 AM local time on September 3
If the New Zealand trick is successfully used on a compatible console, the New Zealand unlock corresponds to approximately:
5:00 PM PKT on September 2
That means eligible console players could potentially start playing several hours before the normal Pakistani console release.
Blood of Dawnwalker Launch Checklist
Before launch, make sure you:
- Preload the game 48 hours before release.
- Check your platform’s exact launch time.
- Confirm that your console has enough storage.
- Update your system software.
- If you’re on Xbox, decide whether you want to try the New Zealand region method.
- If you’re on PS5, remember that changing the console region alone isn’t enough.
- Don’t expect the New Zealand trick to accelerate the PC/Steam launch.
- Check Rebel Wolves’ streaming restrictions before broadcasting gameplay.
Final Verdict
The Blood of Dawnwalker launches September 3, 2026, but players won’t all receive access at exactly the same time.
PC players get a simultaneous global launch at 12 AM CEST, while PS5 and Xbox players generally receive the game at midnight in their local region.
For console players located west of New Zealand, the New Zealand trick may provide an earlier way to access the game, particularly on Xbox. However, the method doesn’t provide an earlier PC release, and PlayStation users face additional regional-account requirements.
If you’re planning to play at launch, the safest approach is to preload the game 48 hours in advance and check your exact regional release time.
For players who simply can’t wait, Xbox users may have the most convenient option for getting into the world of The Blood of Dawnwalker early.
